MASKHEAD

Maskhead refers to the head used in a book, magazine or newspaper publication.

Maskhead design is important and represents the image and identity for a specific publication.

Maskhead design and creation is essential in determining a publishing identity.
HEADING
-
Heading refers to the lead or main title shown on publication.

Heading is used for stress of topics or important issues that in a publishing.

Heading is important because without it, a design won’t be interesting and effective.

It purpose is to attracts reader’s attention to a publication and also as selling factor.
SUBHEADS

Subheads is good when maintained with the same font type as the heading, although the size may be smaller.

Different type faces may also be used as long as it suits the typeface selected for the heading.
HEADER OR RUNNING HEAD
-
It may identify the publication, chapter title or page number.

It helps guide the reader quickly to important information.
FOOTER OR RUNNING FOOT
-
A footer may contain the same information as header but it located at the bottom of the page.

Normally, the left-hand side footer is use to identify the title of the look and page number.

Another footer on the right-hand page gives the title of the chapter and page number.
CAPTION
-
Captions are the short texts that explain or elaborate an image presented.

The caption in this layout functions as an elaboration of the technology shown.
JUMPLINE

When the text is continued on another page, a jumpline is used to indicate the page with the continued information.

The jumpline eliminates confusion when an article begins on one page and continues on another page within the publication.

It guides the reader to remainder of the article or text.
